After a hectic Christmas eve I was not yet ready to retire so I headed down to Denny's on Marine Drive for a coffee and a light bite to eat. I recognized Juvie from the now defunct Denny's at Broadway & Birch. My first question...to Juvie was if the individuals in the kitchen could cook to which she responded "not to the calibre of Broadway". I then asked if I would be happy if I ordered a Grand Slam adding that I was very particular with my medium poached eggs. Juvie assured me that she would put in a special request in terms of my eggs. The pancakes arrived nice and fluffy and on a separate plate. The 4 slices of bacon looked as if it were cooked yesterday and tasted as if it were held at room temperature. As for my poached eggs they arrived hard in a dessert dish and floating in the water they were poached in. The bottom line is that I ate 1/2 of the pancakes and bacon. On the upside the coffee was good.
