My husband took me to a "surprise" lunch the other day to settle a tif. He said it was to a place we've never been before, and it was highly recommended by his wine buddies. No wonder. Dock Lunch is charming, and hip and delicious!...Upon meeting Elizabeth, the chef/owner, you will understand why. Her warmth and passion for great food and company is palpable- in the restaurant's decor and ambiance, the heirloom pieces, the personally chosen cook books and of course, in the tasty dishes. That day we were lucky to try her Poke bowl. It was our first time to try a Poke bowl (traditionally a Hawaiian street food) and now we are hooked! The lightly seared tuna steaks on a bed of greens, Japanese seaweed with bits of bacon, etc etc were more than satisfying. Her lentil soup too was hearty and comforting. Since her menu changes daily, I am hoping for an encore of the Poke bowl... I cannot wait to try her other creations. Next time we plan to visit on a Friday for dinner...
