On our first night in Quebec we were starving after the long car ride. The St. Malo was a very short walk from our hotel in the lower town. We had no reservations, but they found us a table.on the patio. We ordered a bottle...of wine and looked over the menu there were many choices including roasted rabbit and a duck confit. My wife's voice was flagging and the waiter misunderstood her choice of the duck and thought we were both having the rabbit. A mini-crisis ensued with my wife saying it was her mistake. "Now you want steak, Madame?! " Tell me what you want.!. We took the rabbit, which he said was fantastic. It WAS fantastic, the most moist rabbit in a wonderful sauce. The next day our waiter (the manager) was in front of us checking out of a restaurant. When saw me, he said I looked familiar. I said, "It's me, Monsieur Lapin." We all laughed like old friends. The food is quite good, but the experience was fantastic. That's as important than anything. Please go. You won't be disappointed.
