A little hole-in-wall on Helmcken and Howe, an area that is climbing out of its tawdry past. Obviously it benefits from a lot of walk-by traffic, and is quite inviting. The young couple running the place are all smiles and genuinely friendly. The food is...typical Vancouver street sushi- nothing to write home about, but more than acceptable. They seem to have caught the sushi roll craze- more and more very un Japanese offerings like Lion King, Vampire, and even a Van Special roll featuring pizza cheese. Egads! But my prosaic choice of Lunch Combo A, featuring chicken or beef teriyaki, ebi sushi, dynamite roll (half), rice, salad and miso soup with green tea for $8.75 simply can't be beat. I ate outside, but still the server made a couple of passes to fill tea and make sure all was ok. And flash her smile. In an area with endless choices, this place is one to choose.
