Good solid dim sum in this Vancouver East side Chinese Restaurant. This location had seen several changes in management and name, the latest incarnation had been in business for a few years, and has always been busy and popular in the neighbourhood, for me coming...here is for another reason; they have covered parking, which is great for my doggie, coming here early in the morning, the parking area is not busy and also its cool so its perfect for her!! I have been trying to find restaurants that has covered parking for that same reason. The place opens at 9:00am and we had been here on several occasions and it actually makes more sense to come at around 9:45am instead, as most of the kitchen items will not be available till after 10:00am, and even if you order the steamed items such as Sui Mai, Har Gau, Rice Rolls, they will take at least 20mins. to be ready, so I made a point to come after 9:30. Food portion here is large, most items are larger then the portions you will find in Richmond, I also love the fact that after 10:00am they have several kitchen items that are on special; such as BBQ Duck with Rice Noodles in Soup, Beef Brisket Noodles, Chicken and Mushroom Noodles, all these items are not small, so they can also be shared. For an authentic dim sum restaurant this place has it all, the crowd, the line-ups, the conversations in Cantonese village dialects, the pushy old ladies and men that will not watch where they are going etc. But I guess this is how a Dim Sum place is supposed to be!!More
