We've been going to the Dodo for years. Now with COVID we order to go (recommend calling the restaurant directly). The restaurant is comfortable with some bench seating, a smallish place, clean and pleasant and laid back. Staff are friendly and service is great. When...we've had people from out of town or people who want to try somewhere new, this is our usual go to. So far, everyone who likes Japanese food, really likes it. We really recommend the mango/avocado salad, deep-fried eggplant appetizer with sauce, and the there's an extensive menu. More recently, we've been ordering to go. This restaurant is in the 10th and Sasamat area of Point Grey. We highly recommend it. Also, we are full when we're finished (I usually order too much) and it's good value. There are some other Japanese restaurants in the area but they're pretty pricey and you leave hungry; here you don't.
