Even if we were just a bit disappointed in the food itself, the exceptionally good service along with the quips and fun attitude of our server more than made up for anything that could have been wrong! We stopped for breakfast on a Saturday morning...(almost lunch) and got there just in time because by 12:15 there was a line at the door. A sign at the door sets the tone for the experience. Three of us ate, two ordered the same thing, the Eggs Benny (described as; Black forest ham, biscuit, poached eggs, hash browns, hollandaise). I was a bit disappointed to see it served on a biscuit but as long as it tastes good, I'm ok. The biggest disappointment came as each of us cut into the eggs to find that they were 2 minutes shy of being hard boiled. We had hoped that they would be, as they are supposed to be, poached lightly with the yolk oozing out all over my biscuit. Alas it was not to be. The third of our party had the Woodstock Breakfast (House made granola, fruit compote, yogurt, honey drizzle, seasonal fruit) which I think is impossible to mess up AND more important, he loved it! I did, however, thoroughly enjoy everything on the table as I sipped on my morning mimosa. This is a great place to go, lots of fun, great service, and the food isn't so bad either. In spite of the "not so runny" eggs, I still give it 5 stars, just because we all really enjoyed the visit. Yep, I'd recommend Mary's if your in Vancouver and won't get drenched getting there!More
