Not having a ton of experience with Filipino food, we played it safe with lumpia, pancit and pad Thai (yeah, we know, but it’s not just a Filipino menu!). The serving of limpia was very generous and delicious, the pancit was in point and the...pad Thai was amazing. Next visit I was alone and asked for a recommendation of something I would have tried before and caldareto was recommended. Holy cow. Talk about elevating beef stew! Not your mother’s crock pot beef stew! Same basic idea to start but think more veg like peppers and celery and peas and added warmer spices like maybe cumin? It was so freakin good. I ate a lot and that was only about a third. Huge portion. Brought it home and Hubbie had it twice more. Look forward to the next visit.
