The local HoJo has undergone some upgrades since this neighborhood hotel and bar stopped being the "Downs Hotel". We've lived in the area for over twenty years, and the upgrades have been a welcome change. The clientele of the bar seems less noisy for the...neighborhood since it picked up a sports theme. It's a comfortable and enjoyable place to get a drink - very good selection for a small bar - and the food service is also quite good. There's a nice little VLT lounge ofr those so inclined, and there are plenty of screens with good visibility to watch the games. The vendor used to be a well stocked and functional store with a good selection. Lately, however, the shelves never seem to be stocked, and I have to ask the clerk to get what I want from the back. When asked why, the weekend clerk seemed to think it was not his job to keep the shelves stocked. Really?More
