The Charles is a good spot to watch sport and socialise over a few drinks or classic bar snacks. They have a good happy hour menu which is recommended to capitalise on for the best prices. The selection of beers is pretty good and is...enough to please all, along with their food menu. We visited during the final game of the NHL and the atmosphere of the bar was very good. They have a number of TVs and a large screen thus allowing for viewing from just about anywhere in the bar. The atmosphere was great and not too loud thereby enabling conversation without having to raise voices. They have a number of comfy booths and seating which are well placed and are very relaxing. The service from the staff was excellent and they are very friendly and happy to help, however the service itself was very slow and took inexplicably long to get drinks, the bill etc. I understand that they had a new payment system therefore I cannot talk too much on this. Overall the visit to the bar was positive.
