We usually go to the Keg for special occasions. This last time we ordered the roast beef dinner and I described how I like it cooked- medium with not much blood. When it arrived the beef looked like it had been mechanically made. It was...pink in the middle, shaped like a steak and has no fibre to it and no juice of any kind. When I poured the au jue over it it just soaked in. Absolutely terribly unappealing. I asked the server about it and she said that the roast is cooked to medium rare and to serve it as a medium it is heated in au jeu until it reaches medium. What a way to ruin a dinner. She offered to get me another cut but I didn’t want to wait while everyone else finishes their dinner. I don’t know if the Keg has changed over to those mechanically tenderized cuts of beef commonly found in cheaper restaurants or just a bad decision by the kitchen staff but this was not a good experience.
