My choice for date night. I have wanted to go to this resto for so long. It was an abysmal dumpling place for a while, but then one day that closed and later I saw people kicking tires on the building. What they have done...is amazing. The outside got a face lift, the inside a makeover, and it is now Vietnamese. Tonight I decided we should go for Bun (Bowls). Once there we saw they had 2 Banh Mi’s on the menu – food for a future visit. We started with Bahn Koht (mini rice flour pancakes with shrimp and seasoned pork.) I had never heard of these before – I am now a fan. However, perhaps you can avoid looking like the clumsy westerners we did, if you know that the reason there is romaine on the plate is that you are supposed to wrap the pancake in the leaves with herbs and veggies and make a roll. It was good our way too. The Bun was outrageous. One thing to note is this is a place where you fill in the menu number to order. K36 is Pork – K38 is what my partner had wanted, her/my mistake. Nonetheless it was fab. The deluxe was huge, and the add ons were tasty as heck. The place is not licensed, but they indicted they were planning to be. Parking on Sargent and side streets is plentiful. Last things. Service was fast and friendly. Payment can be made at door or they can bring the machine. Lovely place – will be going back.
