Like another poster here I consider myself a Pho connoisseur. In addition to having experienced this dish in at least two dozen Winnipeg Vietnamese restaurants, I've made the dish from scratch many times myself. This take-out experience was by far the worst. I'd have at...least rated the dish average had it not been for the sad state of the beef (see picture). It certainly wasn't sirloin or round-eye, but rather the most fat laden display I've ever encountered in any meal other than low grade bacon. Not a single piece was edible. I had to stop eating it after the first two spoon fulls. I separated the beef, carved the fat out & replaced it into the broth. 80% of the trimmings went into the trash. What was left was tough as nails & was spit out. I ate around the beef & finished the dish & my dining partner refused to even try hers. So disappointed as a good number of Vietnamese friends including my tailor for decades highly recommended Vi-Ann. Perhaps costs are being cut due to COVID19. The staff were VERY friendly & I told them how excited I was to try their pho. With that said the most important part of a dining experience isn't the staff its the food. 5 stars for the staff but in good conscience I can't rate anything else higher than 1 star.
