I gave this restaurant a Very Good rating, however I was torn between average/very good. i've been wanting to try this restaurant for a couple years & finally got the chance. perfect opportunity as the restaurant was advertising a Christmas set menu - 8 course...meal for $25.00 P/P. wonderful right!? wrong.....the server told us it was not available...huh?? the advertisement said "holiday menu between December 1 - Jan 15 (we went on December 28). all she said was no, no other explanation. I'm not even sure how much English she spoke. anyway....OK....so ordering off the menu we go. the Very Good rating is because the food IS very good. great flavours & really good portions for a Malaysian restaurant. price value is good for what you get. i don't have favourite dish to recommend because everything we ordered was very tasty. the coconut prawns had a really nice panko breading, very light & crunchy, did not taste greasy at all. Sambal green beans were cooked perfectly where is was still crunchy to the bite & good spiciness. my friend who does not eat spicy, said it was good & not too spicy for her. the fried hokkein mee had good amount of squid, shrimps & chicken that we all got some. the average rating is that I was really disappointed, is that after we put our order in, the server came back to tell us that they ran out of the Roti Canai. REALLY??!! AND....after some of our food came out, not sure if it was the owner/manager came to tell us that....sorry, we ran out of the Beef Rendang.....come on.....THAT was the ONE dish I was soooooo looking forward to (by the way, we were the only table in the restaurant at the early seating of 5:00 pm). don't understand how they can run out of food. OK...so we ordered the Malaysian style chicken with hoisin sauce. again great flavours, sauce is great over rice, good portion. at the end of the meal, the same owner/manager gave us dessert on the house. ambiance of the restaurant good. overall experience is mixed feelings. sooooo not sure if i would go back.
