I just went this afternoon with a friend. I used to eat here a lot when I worked in the neighbourhood, 12 years ago. Wow, has it taken a turn for the worse. When we arrived, we sat for 15 minutes, completely ignored. Then the...server slammed two cups of water in front of us asked for our food order and walked away. When the food arrived, I finally had the opportunity to order a cup of coffee. Not once were we asked how our food was. I saw servers filling everyone else’s coffee but mine, they walked past my empty cup more times then I could count. We sat at the front counter, when I mentioned the poor service to my friend, she told me that she has received bad service in the past. A server came to see what we were talking about, asking questions. She then told my friend that incident had been dealt with and was not fair to them to keep bringing it up. A fellow from the kitchen sitting at the end of the counter told us we needed to let it go. I would say the situation hadn’t been dealt with as the staff are still rude, too busy to give good service and pay attention to the folks they are serving. Dropping utensils and food in front of someone and walking away is not good service. I will let it go, I will never be back! Rude, ignored, attitude from all the staff. Try being polite, nice, smile and refill coffee when empty, you might keep customers coming back. My recommendation to my friend, find a new regular spot to have lunch. Definitely not the diner I remember and we both were very disappointed with the service.
