My experience with this pub is directly related to a stay at the Patricia Hotel. I did have a relatively early dinner here one evening. The live music and the vintage jazz recordings played afterward were enjoyable, and the sound level was reasonable. I had...the lager made on-site, which was very good. The poutine was tasty and, as far as I know, a good example of the genre. Unfortunately, I had a number of occasions to be in the pub that were far less pleasant. The breakfast provided by the hotel is laid out here, and the only ice available to hotel guests must be acquired at the bar, which generally required a long wait. I therefore was in the pub six or eight times when I would much rather have been elsewhere. The staff appears to like heavy-metal music played way too loud, and each of my requests to have it turned down a bit was met with scorn or indifference. I see no reason to subject people to that much noise at breakfast or at any other time. I suppose it's not really the pub's fault that hotel guests are forced to intrude upon their insouciant, loud milieu, but when I never stay at the Patricia Hotel again, it will be due to the necessity of going to the pub in order to avail myself of hotel amenities. And when I'm not staying at the Patricia Hotel, I'm not sure that it will be worth the trouble to go to Pat's Pub. My tinnitus is bad enough already.
