My daughter took my wife and I out for a birthday dinner to Ophelia. I wasn't expecting a Mexican restaurant, but love Mexican food. We sat inside to get the 'real vibe', though there was a spacious patio area (probably pretty noisy on a busy...street). The restaurant was very busy for a Tuesday night. The ambience and setup pf the inside was excellent. Solid glass dividers separated the tables and looked 'normal' as opposed to COVID setups in other places. It allowed for easy conversation. The waiter we had was new, and very friendly and efficient, but made a few 'rookie' mistakes. Other than that, everything was top notch. The food we had was probably the best Mexican we've had at a restaurant in a long time. We shared several appies and a main. Portions were good. The flavours and textures were superb, with some interesting combinations. It's not your "slap down a bowl of salsa and chips" or "fill the plate with refried beans and rice" kind of place.; much more subtle and varied. The prices surprised me when I paid the very affordable bill at the end. A very positive experience, and a restaurant worth returning to.
