Simon Kahlon the owner of Sabra is a master pastry chef. He trained under Italian and Hungarian pastry chefs. Many of his pastries are sold to local coffee shops in Vancouver. Fresh daily. Try the cinnamon buns, just the right size (not too big) one...of the favourites. His chocolate Babka is another winner. Of course there are seasonal specialties. At Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) the honey and apple cakes are as good as they get. Shavuot, cheese cake (made with vegan non-dairy cheese substitute, tasty) Hanukah (the festival of lights, 8 crazy nights) just around the corner, Sufganiyot (Israeli style filled donuts) and of course the proverbial Potatoe Latkehs. Many different types of cookes (black and whites, sprinkles) Nanaimo bars, cakes. Of course you can special order cakes for special occasions. All baking is Paerve (strictly no milk products used). All baking is under the inspection of Kosher Check/BC Kosher and can be eaten in the restaurant or to take home or to work. I regularly take the cinnamon buns to work. They evaporate very quickly. So fresh.
