ok, so as i mentioned in my first part of the review, comments are limited here to 1500 words, and as that didnt cover all i had to say, i'm posting this 2nd part now! in the first part, we talked about the location etc...in this part, i want to talk about everything else... Druggies...yes, agreed, there are druggies and homeless people around, but not In the hotel itself; people have been posting comments as if homeless were living in the hotel! in all the time i stayed there, and did my fair share of walking around all the neighbourhoods, yes, i did see shocking examples of people drugged out of their minds etc, but all you need to do is walk around or cross the street, is all. thats not difficult. i was never accosted by any of those people, save the ones asking for a few cents, and even when i said no, they had the courtesy to say thank you sir, have a nice day...not exactly threatening, is it! yes, the hotel is vintage, with wooden floors, olde worlde central heating radiators etc but it is unique....it has a lovely little peaceful library section in the foyer where you can have your coffee and read all day if you like, a larger area with good sofas and armchairs to relax in and people-watch if you like, and the food and beer in the pub section is excellent. the highlight of the place is it's convenience...you can walk to downtown Vancouver in about 20 minutes, with Gastown, great restaurants and coffee places, Chinatown being only 5 minutes walk away, too.
