I haven’t written a review in a very long time on here but let me tell you, this is an honest review that I don’t want to over hype this place in case you and I don’t think the same. :) I honestly believe, however,...that pretty much everyone should be able to find a really good meal here. No matter your food preferences / pickiness. I remember going to Burgoo 20+ years ago for the first time and a number of times since at their different locations. I’ve never been disappointed. It has been a very long while since the last time I had been and this time I took my love with me. He’s never been to Burgoo. Ever. I was worried he wouldn’t like many, if any, of the menu items. Yes, Burgoo is all about comfort food, but Justin is a very basic kind of eater. Thankfully, he loved it AND he tried something totally out of his realm of choice. Our server, Autumm, was simply lovely and totally on the ball with us. She didn’t shy away from our requests of what’s better (a or b kind of thing) and she was quick to answer our curious “what’s in this / that” questions. The food was great, as expected. Everything perfectly hot when it got out to you. These plates don’t sit under a heat lamp for sure. We started with the Brie fondue with added farmers sausage. So good! He ordered the Mac ‘n cheese with bacon and I ordered the tasty chicken sandwich with the mushroom and truffle soup side. My mouth is watering just remembering it all. Everything was so tasty! Honestly. Even Justin would have eaten my entire sandwich if we weren’t sharing! Drinks were the Snakebite special for him (x2) and a Mulled wine and a Caesar for me. Yumm yumm yumm! All together and before tip, less than $100. We had a great night out with great food and lovely atmosphere. They also have a very handy “get in line” online sign in if you don’t make a reservation. It was perfect for us as we live 50 min away. Check it out on their website (Burgoo.ca). It works for all of their locations.
