My friend Lisa and I went for dinner on Saturday night for the first time at SANTORINI , I have heard of the place but never tried it . We arrived a little early to our reservation and where presently surprised to see the place...full and very lively. From the beginning we knew that it was going to be a great evening. Maria ( we assumed, the owner) greeted us like she had known us for years . They offered us a table upstairs but we wanted something closer to the window . They immediately accommodated us even if they were expecting a larger group and needed the table ( a real nice touch ) we decided to try as much variety as we could so we started with the seafood appetizer combo platter and it was superb. A mix of sautéed calamari, shrimps , scallops and octopus seasoned perfectly. We also had a half litre of Retsina to accompany the dish and enjoyed the combination. For our main , we opted for the combo platter. Now this is a must !! Moussaka ( the best I ever had ) lamb and chicken souvlaki, cooked perfectly , spanakopita that melts in your mouth, fried calamari served on a bed of rice and roasted potatoes . We finished the evening with a baklava that was so good that we had to ordered two mor to take home with us . The service was attentive and polite our server was always there at the right time and we never felt pushed . Overall a perfect dinner and a fantastic evening, we will definitely be back and I would recommend it to everyone who wants to experience the genuine Greek cuisine and hospitality .
