We have been going to all locations of Zakkushi for years. Starting at the original (now closed) on West 4th, moving on to Denman St, but now go to the one on Main Street. Funky, cool, beautiful, it could use a little more cleaning and...the decor is looking tired. But who cares when the food and booze is so good! You must try the Sweet Potato Sochu Vodka on-the-rocks and as many different skewers as you possible put in your cake hole. Standouts are the Mochi with Bacon (grilled, puffed glutinous rice with American Cheese and Bacon, could have easily just eaten those all night. But there is so much more. Pork Cheeks, Tender Beef Steak, Pork Belly, Sea Food, & Veggies. For the more adventurous connoisseur you must try the Chicken Livers and the Chicken Hearts, just delicious! The is always a special sheet with Sushi & Sashimi, Salads and Appetizers and always a dessert special.
