If you want turn back the clock to the 1960's and experience what it was like to eat at your nonna's place come here. Roberto and his sweet wife, both in their 80's, prepare everything from scratch and their food is served fresh from kitchen...to table. This is not fast food and when it's busy expect the service to be "adagio"( leisurely). The decor is humble but colourful, offering a visual feast of family portraits, Italian nostalgia posters and ever present RAI TV running in the background. Durable plastic clad seating and indestructible ceramic tile floors remind you that the owners plan to be around for a long while . The food is simple, tasty ,served in abundant portions and priced reasonably. This is not modern Italian cuisine but, as the restaurant name clearly proclaims, rustic country fare prepared with love and "gusto". The banter from the kitchen was often audible and clearly, Chef Roberto and "la signora" were not always in agreement on menu details... an Italian "opera of the cucina" played out a few feet from our table.. Vanessa, our gracious server, grand-daughter of the owners, and a veteran of this performance told us to enjoy both food and the show. We did and we'll come back.
