Like most Korean restaurants, Dolsot Café has a modest dining area and average, albeit friendly, service. I had the gamjatang. It was definitely the closest I’ve had to gamjatang in Korean restaurants in Toronto. The soup was nice and spicy. There was loads of meat...and the broth had a lot of flavour and depth. However, there was no potato (which is a must for me in gamjatang!), even though the menu indicated that there was. The banchan came in very small servings — I could have eaten three times the amount of kimchi they gave me. Most places give free refills, but none of the servers bothered to come to my table after the food was delivered. Despite a few drawbacks, I’d certainly go back.
