We went on a Friday evening at 7 with a reservation to celebrate my wife's birthday with her brother & his wife. When we arrived, the restaurant was quite full but it was mostly empty by 8. There was live entertainment playing a few metres...away in the adjoining bar area, which made it difficult to hear each other and our server. The performer took a break soon after our arrival and played again later. Our server brought water on request. We had trouble picking a wine. We didn't want a bottle but the choice by glass was limited. My wife and I chose a sauvignon blanc and her brother & his wife a Malbec by the glass. Neither were very good. The server tried to recommend that we select an expensive bottle from the menu. For the meal we all selected La Cabrera; a 24 oz Angus Ribeye with grilled vegetables & the chef's choice of starch, for 2 to 3 people. Even though the restaurant was almost empty it took far too long for us to get our food, at least 45 minutes after ordering. There is no bread or rolls included with the meal, so we were hungry. My wife and I ordered it medium rare and that is how it arrived. It was definitely 24 oz and it may have been one of the best steaks I have ever eaten. However, in 2 cases, when I went to eat a slice of the steak, I also had a mouthful of salty rub, which really detracted from the steak. No one else encountered that. The starch was garlic mashed potatoes which were good. There was also some squash, also good. However, one of the vegetables was part of a corn cob and it was either badly overcooked in water before grilling or it was canned corn on the cob. My wife also said her half of the steak was excellent. Her brother and his wife ordered their steak medium well and it came medium. They said it was cooked well enough and they did eat it. They also commented on how good it was. Our server was overly attentive. She stopped at our table several times while we were waiting for our food and several times after we received it. This was too much. Our table was against the window and there was a draft around it. Overall, the steak was excellent but everything else could have been better.
