Was at petpalooza today, where they had a tent up. I ordered a slice of the "Pesto Chicken" pizza. When they handed it to me, I noticed it had a slice of peach on it. I asked if it was peach, and the woman said...it was. Then the owner said "that will be the best piece of pizza you've ever had. Well, I've had pizza in hundreds of places in six or seven countries (including Italy), and I've had pizza that has ranged from sublime to awful; and I can say, without a doubt, this was the most revolting piece of pizza I've ever tried. When someone is ordering chicken pesto pizza, they are looking for something savoury. While some things which are sweet (i.e tomatoes, caramelized onions) can be added to a savoury dish, you can't just add anything to anything and call it "fusion". The slices of peach (which appeared to be from a can), and the chunks of pineapple that appeared so old they lost their colour, turned what could have been a decent slice of chicken pizza into a vomit-inducing abortion. I took one bite, had to spit that out, and throw out the remainder. I then had to buy a smokie at the next tent to get the taste of peach-pineapple-pesto-chiucken- barf out of my mouth. If you are going to take whatever leftover, or soon to expire, cans of ingredients you have and try to "fuse" them into your pizza, then post the ingredients; or warn people before they pay $5 for regurgitant!!!More
