Hida Takayama Ramen has to be one of the finest ramen houses in existence. It's not a fancy place in any way so if you only care for a certain ambiance in a restaurant, don't bother or waste their time. I don't go to a...great ramen house to look at the place. It's all about the amazing broth, chashu, and homemade noodles that come together to form an irresistible comfort food delight. Everything, including daily handmade ramen noodles and many different styles of broth, are painstakingly made using traditional time honored methods in-house. The sumptuous results never cease to amaze my palate. We have tried their Miso, Soy broth and spicy pork ramen to date. They were all magnificent, as I am sure all of their soups are. The spicy pork broth was in particular one of the nicest soups I've ever eaten. The portions are very generous. We've had to take half our soup home every time... certainly never a complaint. There is even convenient free underground parking on site. In the summer, we like to sit out on their patio and savor the artistry and passion that goes into their wonderful products. The staff are really wonderful people as well. We visit from Nanaimo and make sure we get our TNT Superstore and Hida Takayama Ramen fix while we are there. It's simply that good. Hida Takayama Ramen is absolutely a "must go to" eating place when in Vancouver. A taste sensation! Can't wait to go again!More
