Pendray Inn and Tea House, while retaining a lot of history, is in need of a major refresh. The paint on the front steps is peeling and the inside is dark and dreary. Social distancing is in effect. I bought the Travelzoo coupon for the set afternoon tea. Although it was $20 off, I paid $70 for myself and a friend to go for tea. On our arrival, we were immediately asked to pay the tax and a 15% gratuity before we were seated at the table. The server brought a tiered plated of mixed warm and cold finger foods, and two pots of tea. The server did not ask if we needed a warm up of our tea, or anything else. The gratuity was steep for such minimal service. The food was mostly good but not plentiful.
