I saw a story about this restaurant on DailyHive Vancouver. It looked like it would be fun for the kids, so we decided to give it a try. We arrived around noon on a Saturday, and there were no problems with finding pay street parking,...or getting a table. Upon entry, you're asked to sanitize your hands and then provide your contact info as required for COVID-19 contact tracing. Tables had the necessary partitions between booths. Each table has its own tablet so you can place your orders. I noticed some tables had their tablets removed (with only the holder remaining), so not sure if that is for distancing purposes. Using the tablet to order had it advantages and disadvantages. Advantage is that you don't need to wait for our server. Kids were happy to scroll through the menu options and add whatever they wanted to the order. This made it easy and convenient. There's a few quirks though. First, we noticed you can only order 6 lines per order. So you have to place additional orders if you want more than 6 different items. As well, the way the order cart/history interface is designed, it gets a little confusing between what you submitted, what's pending, and what's you're still adding on a new order. To make it a bit worse, they actually missed one item on our first order, so we had to wave down someone for help to get it addressed. Food came out on the mini-bullet trains as advertised. They fit about 3 dishes at a time, and they come out as food is prepared. Simply flip open the train body lid, pull out the dishes and close the lid. I think some sort of laser detects when everything is removed, so there's a short delay, and then knows to return to the kitchen. I would imagine it's a bad idea to leave anything (like empty plates) in the train, as it probably mess up the entire delivery process. Generally speaking, the sushi was OK. I thought the beef teriyaki was overly drenched in oil/fat. Otherwise, it was fun for the kids because they basically get to place all the orders themselves and take the food out of the trains. Overall, it was fun. It's a novelty. Nothing too outstanding about the food, but it was reasonably priced. Service is very minimal considering you use the tablet to order. You only see the staff when you come-in, if any issues arise, and when you pay. I wouldn't mind going back if the kids wanted to go and we were in the area.
