I took my daughter here because we were in the area and it was her recommendation a couple of years ago to come to this place. I have been to this restaurant a couple of times since my last review during the summer of 2015....We arrived around 1:15 PM on a Monday and the small 36 seat restaurant was almost full. Restaurant seating can be described as cozy. In fact, there are 3 rows (4 tables each row, side by side) with each row seating 8 people. In other words, if the restaurant is full you will be sitting very close to other customers as the tables touch each other. The 2 of us ordered the following: • vegetarian spring rolls with soy sauce based dipping sauce (around $8/9 for 3 rolls) – tasty but expensive even though they are quite large. I was disappointed there wasn’t any fish sauce based dipping sauce. • vegetarian pho (around $9) – lots of vegetables and tofu • # 8 pho dac biet (around $10 for a small) – beef protein noodle soup with meatball, sliced rare beef, sliced brisket, tripe and tendon with vermicelli. Tasty broth and plenty of beef protein. The total bill was $29.35 (including taxes) before the tip. Breakdown of rating • Food quality and taste – 3.75/4 out of 5 rating. • Value vis-à-vis price portion size – pricing is fair/good value and the servings were a good size. • Service – average; had to ask for tea refills, food arrived in a timely manner The restaurant is worth going to if you’re in the area. I would give the restaurant a 3.75/4 out 5 for the food. Notes & Tips: • Pho dac biet – is the “house special” pho for most of the pho restaurants I’ve been to. • Extensive menu - appetizers, combination meat & rice dishes, combination meat & vermicelli dishes, pho dishes and beverages. • There is street parking. • Accepts credit cards • Unisex washroom • There is another Vietnamese restaurant less than ½ block North of the Bon Café – Au Petit Cafe.
