I discovered this place thanks to a friend that lives in the neighborhood. It is at the end of Alberni, just before Denman. There’s nothing else around. Next door is the Consulate General of Indonesia, which looks closed all the time. The Red Accordion itself...is hardly noticeable. It is an old house that blends in with the quiet street. The menu-board outside only stands out enough to be noticed by someone walking by on foot. When I was given the cross streets for it, I was intrigued because I never expected a bar to exist there. When I walked up to the front of the place, I was even more perplexed. An old house, with barely any evidence of the bar inside. When I walked in through the door … POOF! Mind-BLOWN! In front of me was a massive old-school, CRT television set playing old shows. I was transported to another dimension and knew right away that this place was something extraordinary. I spent a good amount of time debating if I want the glory of being the one to tell y'all about it or just keep it to myself. Well, I will pass it on to you now. Enjoy it responsibly (and discretely, if you can). Loved everything. The decor, the vibe, the menu, the cocktails, and the especially courteous and professional staff.
