We chose Brock House for our wedding for its location and views of the ocean. We're from out of town so all our communication with the staff was over email. I'd give the natural view and setting - 10/10, the house itself 7/10 it's pretty...old, doors with the locks are janky, the food was lovely that night 9/10, other details - tent + chiavari chairs + to the floor table cloths + lawn furniture + different sized/shaped tables 10/10 (though the tent could be bigger), the service on the wedding day was 5/10 for lack of communication with organisers and day-of staff, extremely rude bar manager (we organised to bring our own alcohol, with everything documented through email but he wouldn't allow it), temp/inexperienced service staff on the day that forgot who ordered what and there just wasn't enough staff for a party of 280, we had free flow wine all night but they stopped serving it for no apparent reason, we had our wedding on a "special date" so we were charged a premium for booking this date while no other venue in the city did this. Another annoying part of the booking was that you could only choose from their list of TWO DJs who were really nothing special.... I don't regret booking Brock House for my special day, I just wished that the organizers could have communicated better or actually be on site that day. Another note is that their CCTVs are on but do not record - my friend had her bag stolen from an upstairs room (an unlocked room) from a passerby that came in from the street and the venue could not provide us with any CCTV footage to give to the police.
