The Safari Sunday Brunch is an enjoyable meal at the Calgary Zoo. You can purchase your ticket for this event online or by telephone from the zoo. Those with zoo memberships get a discount. We arrived to the Safari Lodge in Destination Africa around 10:00...and were seated right away. The dining area is quite large with different sized tables and could easily handle the volume of patrons so meal did not feel rushed nor crowded. There were a few different food areas at the buffet - one area for more traditional breakfast-like food such as bacon and scrambled eggs, but also included unique items such as pulled pork poutine. Another area was for cold food such as sliced meat, cheese, fruit, and a small salad bar. At the back was the omelette station and the dessert table was at the front and included a chocolate fountain. Servers came around frequently with coffee or tea and there was a water and juice area where you could pour your own cold beverages. All of the food that I tried was pretty good and the servers were wonderful and very attentive. We enjoyed our brunch and would do this again.
