Our walking tour of Old Quebec ended at Le Monastère des Augustines and we chose to have lunch in the facility's restaurant. From beginning to end, it was an amazing experience. The menu offers a fish, meat and vegetarian entrée, plus salad, soup, herbal tea...and dessert for a set price. Food is locally sourced or grown on site. The salad bar was excellent, offering vibrant, flavourful greens golden beets, cabbage, carrots and other vegetables in delicious combinations. Soup for the day was squash, smooth and delicious. I had the pepper stuffed with lentils and garnished with pureed tofu and greens. My family had the chicken with baby potatoes and mushrooms. We savoured every bite. Dessert was a mousse of fruit, the perfect finish to the meal. We lingered over our tea, grateful for the experience. We would heartily recommend this restaurant.
