Five for dinner on a Friday night with reservations at 7:00 pm. Restaurant was not crowded so we had a great table with tasty German Beers. Our waitresses were attentive and friendly and quickly took our orders. Most of us chose the Schnitzel “Vienna” served...with cranberry sauce, home-style potato salad, and a side of crisp garden salad and requested lots of extra lemon. Our dishes came quickly but sadly the schnitzels were thick and not fresh tasting unlike the light, pounded schnitzels freshly made at other authentic German Restaurants. In addition the pork in the schnitzels tasted slightly off like they had been frozen. Although I like the Alpen Club I would probably not try the Schnitzel again unless they solved the issue with a signature dish like Schnitzel so that it didn't taste and appear like something out of a freezer box.
