We're so glad that Glenrosa reopened in time for our post-Covid visit to Vancouver Island. We visited Sunday July 12th with friends for my husband's birthday brunch. We love this place. The view, and room are incredibly beautiful. It's a 30-40 minute country drive from...Victoria but it is so worth it. I don't usually describe food, but I must mention the fish and chips. I don't like fish and chips. In fact the thought of greasy fried batter surrounding greasy overcooked fish makes me gag. It's surprising to see fish and chips on a brunch menu, but the word "seared" was used and I was assured that there was no batter. There's many a traditionalist that would be aghast at the Glenrosa version of fish and chips, but here's what I got: a perfectly seared piece of ling cod nestled in a fresh spring pea puree. The chips were fresh potato slivers that melted in my mouth. Nothing out of a bag here! Not ever! My husband ordered the full breakfast which was huge and the bacon was great. Very careful attention was paid my dairy and citrus allergy, and the gluten free requirements of one of our party. As for post Covid protocols; the staff and management excelled.
