In December we visited Vancouver and had the good fortune to book a meal for 12 with Kristen in her home. She has a comfortable space close to downtown. Upon arrival she served a wonderful caramelized apple and blue cheese crostini. The sit down part...of the meal was served at a long table that easily seated all of us and started with an incredible shitake risotto. We then proceeded into coconut poached trout, hasselback potatoes, bacon wrapped green beans, the best cauliflower I have ever had and kale mandarin salad. All the while Kristen seemed to float around her smallish kitchen, with new items seemingly magically appearing for us. She has her movement in the kitchen down to an art form. Kristen never seemed to be rushed or in a panic and somehow the next dish would appear and the previous one cleared, cleaned and put away without you noticing. Dessert was a delicious chocolate ganache tart and was a great way to end the evening of dining. All of us thoroughly enjoyed the evening, with the only downside being that it had to end. Thank you, Kristen, for an incredible dining experience.
