My pal took me and some friends to the American for burgers and fries. Happy hour was great and the drinks were a good deal. We were probably over the average target age of the place, but, we enjoyed it non the less. It's been...renovated in the last few years so has a modern feel for an old building in an old area of Vancouver. The poutine and fries were really delicious and so was the burgers. Music loud and young, but, I can see where that would be a great place for big parties of friends. games and billiards to keep your interest. If table service was available, I likely would have given a higher rating, but, I'm not so interested in having to go to the bar every time I needed a drink or wanted to order food. Of course, we are still the "like to have conversations at the table" era of folks.
