In fact, I would advise that you park the car anywhere nearby (Brant St), pay a visit to the shops on Brant, take a nice relaxed walk, window shop,...and head towards the pier. Make sure you bring your camera. Provided the weather is great, this could be a wonderful 2-3 hour relaxing part of your Sunday.
