6 guys went to Red Racer Taphouse to watch the second half of the mighty Raptors game. I asked for seating for 6 to watch the game, we weren't going to eat. The hostess showed me to a table. My friends, who were a little...behind, caught up with me and told me that they would prefer not to sit in that spot and wanted something a bit more relaxed, maybe at the bar. I felt awkward as we had been shown to those seats but thought we could probably sort it out. We went just behind the bar to a row of stools, not at the bar but very close. I tried a few times to get the hostess' attention to apologise for us moving, smooth things over and maybe get an order in. But it was clear she was now unhappy and had no intention of helping us out or responding to me. She stomped by us a number of times and her body language was clearly expressing annoyance. My colleague tried the bar and they said a server would be with us shortly. Another colleague then eventually got the hostess in a spot where she couldn't ignore us and she responded with something about how she had seated us and we didn't like the seats and that we had to be properly seated to be served under bc liquor law. At this point we gave up and left. In summary, I get that you're busy and maybe had a hard day. I get that we moved and that's frustrating for you. But ignoring us and refusing to work with us on a solution is unreasonable, childish and pathetic. Perhaps the management agree that our behaviour deserves that kind of response.
