We were looking to have a quick drink yesterday evening, but it’s so hard without a reservation these days! We gave up waiting in line, and as we crossed the street, we saw the happy hour menu for The Loft Lounge. Looked up the stairs...and saw no line either, so we figured we’d give it a try. Walking in, you see awesome decor and amazing art work on the walls. It’s totally a retro 70s vibe, super fun colours and a lot of greenery. Greeted by the sweeter staff, they take great care of you! It’s such a great atmosphere, everyone is enjoying themselves, relaxed and having fun. There’s live music, trivia night, happy hour, and of course an awesome Caribbean inspired menu, including drinks. I felt right at home, had a Carib beer (from Trinidad), and noticed Jamaican patties, curry lamb and curry goat on the menu, my favs! This restaurant is so important to the Caribbean community, it’s so difficult to find our food, drinks, music and culture anywhere. The Loft Lounge is perfectly situated in English Bay, you get amazing views of the sun setting across the water, and really great vibes.
