Would be 5 stars except for the no-reservation policy. It creates the nice marketing theatre of that line-up out on the street until 5:30 when they open, I get it, but having your loyal customers go through that is getting old. Plus, it means that...the tables all fill at once.... and then you have the routine of slow-rolling through each table for drink orders.... then food orders.... at a pace meant to not overwhelm the bar or the kitchen. All for the theatre of that line-up out front, and the message it sends about how awesome the place must be. Worth it? Maybe, but getting old. Or maybe I am, and I am not so keen to stand out in the rain for half an hour. Now, all that aside, the food is excellent, the service is excellent, the ambiance is legit urban/euro bistro (complete with Edith Piaf on the stereo), and you'll be glad you went here. I've had each of the different cuts offered for steak frites, they are all great. But the real winner is the burger. Still looking for a better one, anywhere in the world. Seriously. Trust me. I know it's a steak frites place, but try this burger, at least once in your life. Love this place, except for the rigmarole and uncertainty around the no-reservation thing.
