it was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Heck, no. Nothing about these times is good. Except we had a spectacular lunch to celebrate 32 years of marriage, yesterday! It was our second COVID dining experience, and an absolute delight. The...weather was stinking hot and humid, so we chose to eat indoors instead of on their empty terrasse. Good move! and we chose dishes that were suited to the hot and steamy day: an asparagus and nordic shrimp salad, a salad of mixed letuces with buttermilk based dressing and mozzarella di bufala, followed by seared scallops with peas and other greens. Everything done to perfection and just right for such a hot day. The restaurant grows its own lettuces and greens on a farm in the Eastern Townships, and the quality of the produce was outstanding. It may well have been the best salad I have ever had! Service was exceptional and our waiter recommended an excellent bottle of white from Campania. He was mindful of pricing and did not push us out of our price comfort zone, which was nice. Do go! Like all restaurants they seem to have lost the noon business crowd and really need our support to survive! For those of you concerned about COVID, they are managing the situation extremely well and never did we feel in the slightest way that sanitary standards were compromized. Truly an exceptional job! We hope to be back soon.
