We reserved out table for 5 pax beforehand. No one in our party had dined at La Paella before and it did not disappoint. We were celebrating #1 Son's birthday. It so happens he was born in Spain and we love Spanish food having lived...in Madrid for 5 years back in the 1980's. We ordered several starters/tapas to start with. The paellas take 25 minutes to complete before served at the table. Fresh bread was provided. We ordered ensalada de la casa, pimientos rellenos, croquettes and calamares. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the croquettes....the béchamel was very heavy and the filling was chewy. The paella Valenciana was delicious and did have the SOCCARAT at the bottom of the paella pan :) The selection of Rioja wines was very good (Faustino 1) and desserts were home made. The bill including gratuity for all 5 of us was almost $600. So it's not cheap but the quality of the food was good and fresh. That included a bottle of wine, sparkling water and beers The staff were very friendly and attentive. They explained and answered all our questions. The only thing that left is scratching our heads was....they do not serve coffee or tea. No particular reason given...they just don't do it. But they did offer us a chopito on the house. I would recommend La Paella. We dined indoors and early in the evening 6pm. They have two sittings 6pm and 8pm By the time we left, the restaurant was full out on the covered patio area and almost full inside and it was a Thursday night. The Chef is from Madrid....the menu is authentically Spanish. Dulce will take excellent care of you throughout your meal.
