An unexpected find on West 8th Avenue just east of Granville Street. I say unexpected, as we only discovered it because there were no parking spaces in front of the Desseres Art store on West Broadway, and we ended up parking on 8th Avenue instead....Otherwise we would hardly have stumbled on this place. Soffee Cafe is kind of a mini Mozart Konditorei (for those who still remember this place). Our first visit was for coffee and dessert. Let’s just say, we were impressed by the fancy decor and the desserts. One wouldn’t hesitate to take guests there. On our second visit we tried some of the lunch eatables. I had the Grilled Cheese Panini and added a cup of Vegetable soup. My wife went for the Roasted Pulled Chicken and also added a cup of soup. These Paninis are certainly up to our high standards (standards set by the sandwiches at Terra Breads and Harvest Deli). Prices might be a bit higher, but then you are paying for the ambience. Of course, we will go again—there are some crepes to try.
