I walked into Moe's during a lunch break, today, tummy just-a-rumbling: I asked the gentleman "Hi there, do you serve calzones ?" "No, sir, sorry - how about a pizza slice ?", he replies "What do you have that will really fill my belly ?"...He looked at me for a moment and said "You know what ? I'll make you a calzone: What would you like in it ?" And man, oh man: Was it ever a DELICIOUS calzone! (I guess technically, it was a panzerotti) What impressed me even more than the incredible taste of this healthy-sized chunk of pepperoni & cheese heaven was the fact that this gentleman offered to make something that wasn't on the menu, just because a customer asked. He didn't have to: It clearly wasn't on the menu: I'm not a regular (This is the first time I've ever been in Moe's) - When I came back later to buy a drink and to offer a tip (when I bought the panzerotti, he turned the debit machine to me with the tip option already cancelled), he told me "I've been doing this for 18 years: You asked me if I could make a calzone: We weren't busy and you were willing to wait the ten minutes!" This is a gentleman whose niceness matches his talent at the pizza oven, my friends: I saw several construction workers come in to enthusiastically order pizza's while I waited and after my first bite of the panzerotti, the reason for that enthusiasm was blindingly obvious!More
