We eat at the keg in every Canadian city we visit that has one. We always have said that If you want an amazing steak dinner there is no other place to go. Our visit to the keg in Victoria has me now questioning the...above. My plate arrived with lumpy mashed potatoes and steak was way under cooked. The waitress was very apologetic when I brought my concerns to her, she quickly brought it back to have it corrected. Round two, the same steak that had a piece removed arrived back at my table. Again the mashed potatoes that I had been craving were Still lumpy and the steak was still way under cooked for my liking. ( with Covid protocols I was surprised they put my steak back on There grill). At this point I was left very disappointed and said we would leave to eat else where. This is the first time ever that I had been this dissatisfied with a restaurant where I opted to leave. My partner whose steak was also undercooked had remained silent about his disappointment. The manager came out to see me without being prompted to do so, she was great in handling the situation and ensured that our entire bill was waived, she was apologetic and handled the situation well. This restaurant may need a bit more time to get their kitchen staff trained.
