I don’t see my daughter enough and rarely get to do a special day out with my daughter, which was ruined by Phat owner and waitress (both blond women), how disgusting and abhorring to do that to a regular customer with his young daughter and...truly unbelievable. Caused my daughter real anxiety and ruined our special day together. My very quiet teenager couldn’t even believe what she heard and was in complete shock. They said we caused our waitress anxiety because we politely ordered our eggs well done ? If a waitress cannot handle that, she may seriously want to find a new line of work or career which is less stressful than the restaurant business. I know you may find the above hard to believe, but obviously the waitress has some other serious issues, potentially the owner as well. To take out their frustrations due to their many mistakes with our order on us, as a customer is unacceptable and very poor management. We never complained and truly rolled with the punches as the place was busy. Owner came to our table and explained in a condescending way, I am giving her waitress anxiety because I ordered well done eggs with rye toast and my daughter orders same thing with turkey sausage. She explained how waitresses are hard to come by and didn’t want her to quit, so instead she lectured me on how the waitress is right and the customer is always wrong and shouldn’t come back to Phat!!!! I was blown away and have never experienced such an unprofessional and arrogant approach to a very simple problem. They completely messed up both our orders and brought my daughter meal with bacon, instead of turkey sausage and wrong toast both our meals and my eggs were raw! We didn’t complain, just asked politely if they can make me 2 more eggs on the side well done, simple solution to a very common mistake. Clearly this waitress doesn’t know what she is doing and should have just verified the meals before delivering them or just apologize for mistake and correct it, very simple solution to a basic problem. I write many reviews which are all factual and i have approximately 85,000 followers for a reason! I would hope that management sees this review and considers making an apology to me, my daughter and reprimanding the server and even more importantly the way this partial owner handled a very simple situation was completely unprofessional without any class or tact. She should take a course on how to manage customers of a restaurant, which the old adage goes “The customer is always right” except when it comes to Phat Yaletown. I strongly suggest avoiding this restaurant and their unacceptable management style.
