We have lived in the area for 7 years and have always seen Bowman’s on our drives down Carling but just never looked in to their menu. Today we were on a hunt for a really good fried chicken in Ottawa and Bowman’s came up...on a blog as one of the best! We checked out their menu and decided on top of our chicken and waffles we had to try the classic poutine and churros for good measure as well. WOW WOW WOW Let me start with the poutine...that gravy, it’s either a chicken or vegetable base but whatever it was it was so unique and delicious and very much NOT from a can. The chicken and waffles....the spiced maple syrup was a perfect balance of sweet and spicy, the buttermilk chicken was tender and crispy. Pair it with some aged cheddar and chive waffles and *chef’s kiss*! Ok, the churros. Sprinkled with cinnamon sugar and warm hazelnut spread for dipping. Also, a grilled lemon wedge on the side which reminded me of a killaloe sunrise beavertail when squeezed over top. This was all take out because of the lockdown, but it was all very well packaged and still nice and hot when we got home. We’ll definitely be adding Bowman’s to our take out cycle!More
