Stopped by one of my go to's (Wo's Restaurant in southeast Van.) for good'n cheap Chinese one Monday eve. only to find a note stating due to family issue we will be closed tonight, welllll is said the nerve....lol jus kidding!! family is always first,...and luckily right across the street was good ol Uncle Ming waiting to scoop up any and all of Wo's hungry cast away's. The smarter and better looking half of this couple agrees with me that we should give him a try, so off we go across Main St and into a simple little place, sounds busy in the kitchen but the place is empty but for us.As it turns out they are mainly take-out and although they have a few seats to eat in, they serve on styro plates, but use real cutlery, no biggy as long as whats on the place is yummy, and low and behold it is super yummy!! Uncle Ming knows his stuff! and while talking with Auntie Ming (the smarter half call's it interrogating) I found out my new Uncle has worked in some fairly high end places around town before hanging his own shingle on Main near Marine Drive. Try his house made hot sauce with anything its killer good!! like a cross between sambal oelek and chili garlic sauce.....sorry Wo's I'm trying their chicken wings next and if they are anything close to yours I might not need to cross the street to Wo's any more, i'll be sure to update soon.....mmm mmm mmm wings. ;-[]More
